Saudi Arabia: Reduced Clearance Period for Unclaimed Goods at Customs Outlets

Please be informed that the General Customs Authority in Saudi Arabia released a circular (see attached in English / Arabic) announcing that effective from 21 September 2017, the clearance period for unclaimed goods at customs outlets shall be reduced to 15 days for perishable goods (such as food stuffs, medicine, etc) and 30 days for other goods from the unloading date.

Due to the continuous increase in the volume of goods received and the need to unload the yards of unclaimed goods, this measure comes in response to speed up the completion of customs procedures and the flow of imports.

Please be advised that goods unclaimed from customs outlets, within 15 days and 30 days for perishables and other goods respectively, will not be cleared by the customs.
